Review large workshop items individually
Give dimensions and photographs for unusually large or heavy pieces instead of treating them as ordinary boxes. Tell the team if equipment is fixed in place or needs preparation before transport. Include detached-building access and turning space when the loading area is reached by a long driveway.

Permit and insurance filing
Iowa’s intrastate authority process requires the appropriate permit, a USDOT number and insurer-filed Form E for bodily injury/property damage. Household-goods carriers must also submit a tariff. Vehicle insurance is separate from the protection selected for the shipment.
Charges must match the tariff
Iowa DOT says an in-state household-goods carrier cannot collect more or less than its filed rates for the service performed. If boxes, furniture or packing are added, request the updated quantities and relevant tariff items in writing; a change to the workload is not a new arbitrary rate.
