GORILLA HAULERS MOVING GUIDE
Packing for a long-distance move
Prepare boxes, protect fragile belongings, and keep arrival essentials separate.
Get my moving estimateDecide who will pack each room
Tell us which items you will pack and which you want help with. Confirm the packing work and materials included in your estimate so both you and the crew know what to expect.
- Start with belongings you rarely use.
- Use sturdy boxes that close securely.
- Keep heavy items in smaller boxes you can handle safely.
Label boxes for delivery
Label each box with its destination room and a short description. Numbering boxes can help you keep track of what you packed without writing every item on the outside.
- Write labels on the top and at least one side.
- Wrap fragile pieces separately and fill empty space.
- Keep furniture hardware in labeled bags and discuss how it will travel with the crew.
Keep an essentials bag with you
Pack what you need during the time between homes separately from the shipment. Include daily essentials and items you need immediately when you reach your destination.
- Identification, keys, medication, and important paperwork.
- Clothes, toiletries, chargers, and basic bedding.
- Children's and pets' everyday supplies.
