How do I arrange moving-truck parking?

Parking and building-access requirements are set locally, so confirm the exact loading address before reserving the truck. A city or county may require a curb reservation, temporary occupancy permit, meter suspension, posted signs, or commercial loading authorization. Building management may also require elevator reservations, insurance paperwork, and a scheduled arrival window.

Prepare building paperwork and COI requirements

Does your building require a certificate of insurance?

Ask management for its written mover requirements or sample certificate before booking. Send the requirements to our team for review, including the building address, management contact, move date, and submission deadline. Issuance and timing must be confirmed with the team.

  1. Include the exact certificate-holder and additional-insured wording requested by management.
  2. Forward required coverage limits and the building’s delivery instructions for the certificate.
  3. Confirm management has accepted the documentation before moving day; a COI does not reserve the elevator or parking.

Coordinate both buildings

Check pickup and delivery access separately. An elevator reservation at one building does not guarantee access at the other, and street parking permission does not replace approval from building management.

  1. Reserve the freight elevator or loading dock where required.
  2. Send elevator dimensions, loading windows, floor numbers, and stair details.
  3. Agree on who requests parking permission and who meets the crew at each address.
