A moving plan for your workplace

An office relocation starts with knowing what is moving and where it belongs. Share your furniture inventory, equipment list, and layout at the new space so we can review the crew, handling, and placement needs. We serve businesses in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

  • Desks, chairs, tables, shelving, and office furniture
  • Packed files, supplies, and shared workspace contents
  • Equipment identified in advance for handling review
  • Agreed furniture disassembly, reassembly, and placement

Coordinate access at both buildings

Commercial properties often have specific move-in procedures. Send the building requirements before booking so the loading and delivery plan accounts for them. If your property manager requires a certificate of insurance, share the requested details with our team early.

  • Freight elevator and loading dock reservation windows
  • Parking, truck clearance, stairs, and carrying distances
  • Approved moving hours and building contact information
  • Certificate of insurance and floor or wall protection requirements

Plan around your business schedule

Tell us your preferred move date, when staff need access to the new space, and any limits on downtime. If you need an evening, weekend, or phased move, ask us to review availability and pricing. Confirm the agreed schedule and service scope before making arrangements with your staff or building manager.

Packing, labels, and equipment preparation

Label boxes and furniture by department, room, or workstation to make unloading easier. Ask about packing help and identify fragile or oversized items before moving day. Coordinate computer backups, disconnection, and reconnection with your IT team; specialist equipment, server systems, and items needing technical handling must be reviewed before inclusion in the move.

What affects an office moving estimate?

The amount of furniture and equipment, packing needs, route, access, and permitted working hours all shape the estimate. A clear inventory and photos or a walkthrough help us understand the work. Include any furniture that needs disassembly and whether storage is needed between locations.

  • Pickup and destination addresses and your preferred date
  • Furniture inventory, equipment details, and approximate box count
  • Building access requirements and scheduling restrictions
  • Packing, assembly, storage, and placement requests

Storage between business locations

If your new workspace is not ready, ask about storage alongside pickup and later delivery. Tell us how long you expect to need it and whether any items must remain accessible. Availability, conditions, access, and charges are confirmed for your arrangement.

Office moving rates in the DMV

Office moves use our local hourly rates, the same seven days a week, including weekends. Your crew size and the number of trucks depend on how much you are moving, so larger offices get more movers and the job finishes sooner.

Office moving hourly rates
CrewMoving, per hourWith full packing, per hourVolume this crew handles
2 movers$150$215Up to 500 cu. ft.
3 movers$195$260500–1,600 cu. ft.
4 movers$242$3071,600–2,000 cu. ft.
5 movers$282$3472,000–3,200 cu. ft.
6 movers$322$3873,200–4,200 cu. ft.
7+ moversCall for a quoteOver 4,200 cu. ft.
  • 3-hour minimum for every office move.
  • Travel time is billed at the crew's hourly rate and added to the minimum.
  • $99 fuel charge per move.
  • Full packing adds $65 per hour to the crew rate.

Example: the smallest office move, 2 movers for the 3-hour minimum, is $450 plus travel time and the $99 fuel charge.

Why we need to know what you're moving

Some movers give a quick price over the phone based on the number of desks, and then the bill changes on moving day. We would rather get it right before you book. Two offices of the same size can hold very different amounts of furniture, files, and equipment, and what you are moving decides:

  • How many movers we send. The crew, and its hourly rate, is set by the total volume, as shown in the table above.
  • How many trucks. One truck carries up to 1,600 cubic feet. A second truck is added above 1,600 cubic feet and a third above 3,200.
  • How long the move takes. Each mover handles about 50 cubic feet per hour, so the right crew size keeps your hours down.
  • What needs special handling. Heavy, fragile, or oversized pieces, and furniture that has to be taken apart, need the right equipment on the truck.

When we know what is moving, the right crew and trucks arrive on moving day and your estimate reflects the real job.

Send us photos or a video

The easiest way is a short walk-through video on your phone, or photos of each room. Email them to sales@gorillahaulers.com with your name and moving date. Show every office, conference room, storage room, and any equipment, and point out anything heavy, fragile, or oversized.

Prefer a list? Build your inventory and calculate the cubic feet, or read how to prepare your moving inventory.
