Plan the approach and the appointment together
Show the length of the approach and whether the truck can turn around at the property. Share a firm deadline for leaving the home separately from dates on which pickup would simply be convenient. Discuss available scheduling before booking travel that depends on the crew arriving at one particular hour.

Your moving estimate, protection and payment
A move entirely within Maine and a move to another state can have different estimate, licensing and protection requirements.

Carrier credentials and insurance
Maine BMV Motor Carrier Services administers commercial-vehicle credentials, for-hire insurance and carrier safety programs. Confirm the credentials and coverage for the actual operation with BMV; vehicle registration alone does not tell you what a damaged household item would be worth under the contract.
Local contracts and storage
Maine’s consumer protection office distinguishes federal interstate protections from moves entirely within one state. For a local job, ask for the inventory, pricing, protection and written approval process for changes. If you rent self-service storage, Maine requires a written rental agreement and written, reasonable late fees; that agreement is separate from the moving estimate.
