Moving out of Delaware

Our pickup coverage includes Wilmington, Newark, and Dover. Moving from another community? Give us the actual ZIP code so we can review pickup availability. Delivery is available nationwide, with arrangements confirmed for your destination.

Keep Delaware addresses unambiguous

Include the state and ZIP code with a Newark address so it cannot be confused with Newark, New Jersey. Send gate instructions and the name of the person who can admit the crew. A storage facility may have different gate hours from your residential community; check both before agreeing on the pickup sequence.

Your moving estimate, protection and payment

A move entirely within Delaware and a move to another state can have different estimate, licensing and protection requirements.

Drayperson or mover business license

Delaware’s business-license law identifies a drayperson or mover as a business transporting other people’s tangible property for profit. This business-license category is distinct from federal household-goods authority and does not itself establish insurance protection or a price guarantee.

Delaware Code: business licensing

What to put in a local agreement

Check the Delaware license record, then request the actual mover’s insurance evidence, shipment-protection terms and a written inventory-based estimate. For added boxes, rooms or packing, ask for an updated scope and price before work proceeds. Do not apply the interstate 110% delivery-payment rule automatically to a wholly Delaware move.

Delaware Revenue: verify the business license

Sources reviewed October 6, 2026. State licensing guidance describes the applicable requirements; local-service availability is confirmed separately with your pickup and delivery ZIP codes.
