Moving your home in Maryland
Gorilla Haulers moves homes and apartments locally in the DMV and across state lines, with furniture protection, loading, transportation and unloading. Packing and storage can be arranged as part of your moving plan.
Attached single-unit homes make up an estimated 21% of housing units in Maryland. For a townhouse move, organize the inventory by floor and identify beds, desks and dining tables that may need disassembly. 2020–2024 Census housing estimates.

Moving out of Maryland
Our pickup coverage includes Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, Frederick, Baltimore, and Annapolis. Moving from another community? Give us the actual ZIP code so we can review pickup availability. Delivery is available nationwide, with arrangements confirmed for your destination.
Plan a Maryland pickup around the actual loading address
Germantown is our Maryland operating location. A Montgomery County apartment, a Baltimore rowhouse, and a Frederick property can require different loading arrangements. Send the street address and building instructions so the team can review the pickup rather than assuming every Maryland address has the same access.
Maryland’s freight network includes I-95, I-70, and I-270. These are useful regional orientation points when discussing a move, but your pickup address, destination, truck restrictions, and conditions determine the operating route. A highway name does not establish a delivery date.
For Bethesda or Silver Spring, separate the building’s loading-dock or elevator appointment from permission to use public curb space. For Baltimore, check the loading location at the actual property before assuming that an available curb or alley can accommodate the truck.

From customers moving from Maryland
“When we started planning our move from Maryland to halfway across the country, we started to realize that a lot of moving companies bid on your move then contract it out to other companies. Gorilla Haulers does not do that. They showed up on moving day (even the owner, Wilson, personally showed up!) and took great care with everything, even helping us pack some of the items that we had not gotten to. They stored it for us until we were ready to move into our new place. Once we were ready, Wilson personally drove the moving truck out to our new home and took great care with each item. If I ever move again, I will be asking Gorilla Haulers to help me out, as they have proven to be very trustworthy.”
“We have an absolutely amazing experience with our move from Maryland to Florida with Gorilla Haulers. They really went above and beyond to make sure our move went as smooth as possible. Pickup and drop off went very smooth and even when our items took more space then planned they made room and got all our stuff moved. While other movers said it could be 2-3 weeks to get our stuff they got our stuff to us in less than a week. They did an amazing job packing all our items with care and getting them to us in one piece. I highly recommend them for any long distance move, they made a very stressful experience go by smoothly. Thanks Wilson and Gorilla Haulers for all your help!”
Your moving estimate, protection and payment
A move entirely within Maryland and a move to another state can have different estimate, licensing and protection requirements.
Interstate moving: estimates, inventory changes and shipment protection.
Maryland: rules for a move entirely within Maryland
Registration and insurance
Maryland Labor registers household-goods movers annually. Its rules require liability and cargo insurance information meeting the referenced federal minimum standards, plus workers’ compensation for covered employees. Check the actual mover’s registration; a company name or USDOT number alone does not establish it.
Binding and nonbinding prices
For an intrastate move, the written estimate identifies each service, fee, payment terms and whether it is binding, unless the customer voluntarily waives the estimate. A binding price covers the described services. For a nonbinding estimate, Maryland limits charges for the described services to 125% of the estimate, plus qualifying excess charges.
When the inventory or work changes
That 125% rule is not permission for an unexplained increase. The statute defines excess charges as necessary additional services caused by circumstances outside the mover’s control that could not reasonably have been anticipated. Before adding rooms, boxes or packing, ask for an updated inventory and a written explanation of the price change.
